# How to set junk removal load prices in Dumpster Controls

Junk removal is priced by how much of the truck the items fill. Junk Removal Pricing holds one price per load and a short example of what fits, and both the office and the online booking page read from it.

## Before you start

- An admin account

1. ## Open Junk Removal Pricing
In "Operations", open the "Junk Removal" card and click "Load Pricing". You can also get there from the junk card on the Online Booking page ("Set junk prices", or "Settings" then "Open pricing"). The page is titled "Junk Removal Pricing", with the subtitle "Configure load-based pricing for junk removal jobs".
2. ## Set a price for each load
There is one card per load: "1/4 Load" (Quarter), "2/4 Load" (Half), "3/4 Load" (Three-Quarters) and "Full Load". Type the "Base Price" of each one. Changes save on their own a moment after you stop typing, and the card shows "Saved".
3. ## Write the example of each load
Use the "Notes" field of each card to describe what fits in that load, for example "A couch and a few boxes". The new junk booking page shows this text under the load. Left empty, the page shows a standard example, such as "About a room of furniture or a small garage cleanout." for a half truck.
4. ## Pick the default load
The switch on each card marks the default load, shown with "Default" under the colored dot. Only one load can be the default.
5. ## Leave out loads you don't sell online
Online booking only offers loads with a price above zero. Leave a load at zero to keep it off the booking page.

## What happens next

- The "Global Settings" panel on the right has "Allow manual override" ("Let operators override prices") and "Volume reference (yards)", which adds cubic yard labels to each load using your "Container capacity (yd³)".
- Each online booking saves the price list in effect when the customer paid. A later "Adjust load" uses that saved list, so changing your prices does not change the difference on jobs already booked.

## Troubleshooting

### A load does not show on my booking page.

Its "Base Price" is zero or empty. Give it a price above zero.

### What should I write in Notes?

Notes is the example customers see for that load on the new junk booking page, so describe what fits, for example "a couch and a few boxes".

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Dumpster Controls really free?

Yes. The software is free: dispatch, online booking, the driver app, invoicing, the Tresha AI assistant and every other feature, with no monthly fee, no trial period and no credit card to sign up. The only cost on the free plan is optional card processing when a customer pays by card through the platform: 2.99% plus $3.99 per transaction on the free plan. An optional Unlimited plan at $169 per month lowers that to 2.99% plus $0.30. Prices as published on dumpstercontrols.io/pricing on 2026-09-23.

### Do you charge per driver, per truck or per order?

No. There is no per-driver, per-truck, per-user or per-order fee, and no order limit. A company with one truck and a company with twenty pay the same for the software: nothing.

### Is there a contract?

No. There is no contract, no minimum term and no setup fee. You create the account yourself, and on the free plan there is nothing to cancel because nothing is billed. The optional Unlimited plan is billed month to month.

### Which countries and languages are supported?

Dumpster Controls serves hauling companies in the United States and Canada. The app interface and the Tresha AI assistant are available in English, Spanish and Portuguese. The public pages, such as the blog, the help center and the landfill finder, are in English.

### How do I switch from another dumpster software?

Create a free account at dumpstercontrols.io/login, with no sales call and no credit card. Then import your customers from a CSV file using the template provided in the app; past orders can also be imported from a CSV. Container sizes and pricing are set up in Settings. The landfill database, with 1,750 active US and Canadian landfills as counted on 2026-10-01, is already loaded, so disposal sites do not need to be typed in. Step-by-step guides are at dumpstercontrols.io/help.
