# What your customer sees when booking junk removal online

The junk booking page walks the customer through four steps (Load, Address, Time, Pay) with the price always visible, and ends with a confirmation they can add to their calendar.

## Before you start

- Junk removal booking is LIVE on the Online Booking page

1. ## Load: how much stuff
The page opens with "Junk gone. Book in about a minute." and your starting price. Under "How much stuff?" the customer taps the load that looks closest ("Quarter truck", "Half truck", "3/4 truck", "Full truck"), each with your example text and price, and a truck drawing fills up to match. When customer photos are on, they can add up to 3 photos under "Snap a photo so your crew comes ready."
2. ## Address: where the items are
Under "Where are the items?" they choose one of your locations and answer "Will you be home?". They enter the street address, ZIP code (postal code in Canada) and optional "Access notes". Addresses outside your service area show "This address is outside the service area." and the customer cannot continue.
3. ## Time: day and arrival window
Under "When should we come?" they pick a day ("Today" and "Tomorrow" are labeled, "More dates" shows more) and one of your arrival windows. The first open slot is marked "First available". Closed days and blocked dates are never offered.
4. ## Pay: review, lists and the promise
"Your booking" sums up the load, time and address, each with "Edit". Your "We don't take" and "May have an extra fee" lists come next, then "Your details" ("Full name", "Mobile phone", "Email"). The price box shows the load, the processing fee (or "Covered by" your company), "Charged today" and your cancellation policy right below it.
5. ## The fair price promise and the checkbox
Your fair price promise is shown next to the total: the customer pays for the space the items take, a bigger load needs their approval before anything is charged, and a smaller one is refunded. They must tick "I understand the final price depends on the actual load. Any increase needs my approval before it is charged." and can open the "junk removal service terms".
6. ## Card payment
They click "Continue to secure payment", enter their card (Apple Pay and Google Pay show when available) and click "Pay $X and book".
7. ## Confirmation
"You're booked" shows the job number, load, day and window, address and "Charged today", with an "Add to calendar" button. Photos are sent to the crew right after payment, and the page says when they were sent. "What happens next" explains the confirmation, the text when the crew is on the way, and the approval rule at pickup.

## What happens next

- If you set a "Booking Confirmed Page URL" in the Advanced tab, the customer is sent to your own thank-you page after the job is created.
- Every company has this junk booking page. The same page opens from your junk link and inside the booking widget on your own website.

## Troubleshooting

### The customer paid and saw "Payment received" instead of "You're booked".

The payment went through but the page could not confirm the job yet. The server finishes the booking from the saved request, and the customer is asked not to pay again. The job shows up in the app when it is created.

### A customer says their photos did not arrive.

The confirmation tells them when a photo could not be sent; the booking stays confirmed either way. Customer photos are only accepted while "Customer photos" is on in the junk settings.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Dumpster Controls really free?

Yes. The software is free: dispatch, online booking, the driver app, invoicing, the Tresha AI assistant and every other feature, with no monthly fee, no trial period and no credit card to sign up. The only cost on the free plan is optional card processing when a customer pays by card through the platform: 2.99% plus $3.99 per transaction on the free plan. An optional Unlimited plan at $169 per month lowers that to 2.99% plus $0.30. Prices as published on dumpstercontrols.io/pricing on 2026-09-23.

### Do you charge per driver, per truck or per order?

No. There is no per-driver, per-truck, per-user or per-order fee, and no order limit. A company with one truck and a company with twenty pay the same for the software: nothing.

### Is there a contract?

No. There is no contract, no minimum term and no setup fee. You create the account yourself, and on the free plan there is nothing to cancel because nothing is billed. The optional Unlimited plan is billed month to month.

### Which countries and languages are supported?

Dumpster Controls serves hauling companies in the United States and Canada. The app interface and the Tresha AI assistant are available in English, Spanish and Portuguese. The public pages, such as the blog, the help center and the landfill finder, are in English.

### How do I switch from another dumpster software?

Create a free account at dumpstercontrols.io/login, with no sales call and no credit card. Then import your customers from a CSV file using the template provided in the app; past orders can also be imported from a CSV. Container sizes and pricing are set up in Settings. The landfill database, with 1,750 active US and Canadian landfills as counted on 2026-10-01, is already loaded, so disposal sites do not need to be typed in.
