# How to build your dumpster rental website with AI and connect online booking in Dumpster Controls

Claude, Lovable and Codex can build a complete dumpster rental website from a written briefing and embed the Dumpster Controls booking in the same pass. Dumpster Controls is documented for AI builders: the prompts below point the AI to the public developer reference, so it integrates the real widget instead of inventing a checkout.

## Before you start

- Online Booking switched on, with Stripe connected and at least one active dumpster size
- Your company slug (the part after company= in your booking link, shown in "Online Booking")
- An account on the AI tool you chose: Claude, Lovable or Codex

1. ## Pick the tool
Claude builds the site from the briefing and, with Claude Code, edits the files of a site you already have. Lovable turns the prompt into a published React site. Codex from ChatGPT works inside your GitHub repository and opens a pull request. Tool-specific steps: dumpstercontrols.io/developers/booking/claude, /lovable and /codex.
2. ## Prompt 1: build the whole site with online booking
Replace the values in curly braces with your own and paste:
Build a complete marketing website for my dumpster rental company. Company: {name}, {city, state}, serving {areas}. Sizes: {10, 15, 20, 30 yard} with starting prices {prices}. Services: {residential cleanouts, construction, roofing}. Phone {phone}. Tone: direct, local, no hype. Pages: home, sizes and prices, service area, about, contact, book online. For online booking, do NOT build a form or a checkout. Embed the Dumpster Controls booking widget exactly as documented at https://dumpstercontrols.io/developers/booking.md using my company slug "{slug}": inline mode on the "book online" page, and a floating "Book a Dumpster" button on every other page. Put a "Book online" button in the header that links to the booking page. Each size card links to the booking page with that size preselected. Mobile first, fast, accessible, with local SEO (title, description, schema.org LocalBusiness).
3. ## Prompt 2: add online booking to a site that already exists
If the site exists, paste this instead:
Add online dumpster booking to this site using the Dumpster Controls widget. Read https://dumpstercontrols.io/developers/booking.md first and follow it exactly. My company slug is "{slug}". Create a /book page with the inline widget and add a floating "Book a Dumpster" button on the other pages. Do not build any form or payment step yourself; the widget handles pricing, dates, address and card payment. If this is a React or Next.js site, insert the widget as a script element with the data attributes set on the element, never as an import. Fire my Google Ads and Meta Pixel conversions from the dc:booking:complete event as documented.
4. ## Check the result
The booking page must load the Dumpster Controls widget (a script tag with data-company set to your slug), not a form the AI wrote. If the AI built its own form, reply: "Do not build a form. Insert the Dumpster Controls widget as a script element exactly as documented at https://dumpstercontrols.io/developers/booking.md."
5. ## Publish and book a test order
Publish the site, open the booking page, book a dumpster and confirm it on the dispatch board. Refund the test from Order History if you used a real card. Then set your Google Ads or Meta Pixel conversion from the dc:booking:complete event, as in "How to track Google Ads conversions from online bookings".

## What happens next

- Prices, dates, holidays, service area, promo codes, card payment and confirmations all stay on the Dumpster Controls engine; the AI only builds the pages around it.
- The same prompts are published at dumpstercontrols.io/online-booking-for-your-dumpster-rental-website.

## Troubleshooting

### The AI imported the widget as a module and nothing shows.

On React and Next.js sites the widget must be inserted as a script element with the data attributes set on the element. Ask the AI to follow the React snippet in the developer reference.

### Can the AI use my booking data or prices directly?

It does not need to. The widget pulls your live prices and sizes from your account; the AI never touches them.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Dumpster Controls really free?

Yes. The software is free: dispatch, online booking, the driver app, invoicing, the Tresha AI assistant and every other feature, with no monthly fee, no trial period and no credit card to sign up. The only cost on the free plan is optional card processing when a customer pays by card through the platform: 2.99% plus $3.99 per transaction on the free plan. An optional Unlimited plan at $169 per month lowers that to 2.99% plus $0.30. Prices as published on dumpstercontrols.io/pricing on 2026-09-23.

### Do you charge per driver, per truck or per order?

No. There is no per-driver, per-truck, per-user or per-order fee, and no order limit. A company with one truck and a company with twenty pay the same for the software: nothing.

### Is there a contract?

No. There is no contract, no minimum term and no setup fee. You create the account yourself, and on the free plan there is nothing to cancel because nothing is billed. The optional Unlimited plan is billed month to month.

### Which countries and languages are supported?

Dumpster Controls serves hauling companies in the United States and Canada. The app interface and the Tresha AI assistant are available in English, Spanish and Portuguese. The public pages, such as the blog, the help center and the landfill finder, are in English.

### How do I switch from another dumpster software?

Create a free account at dumpstercontrols.io/login, with no sales call and no credit card. Then import your customers from a CSV file using the template provided in the app; past orders can also be imported from a CSV. Container sizes and pricing are set up in Settings. The landfill database, with 1,750 active US and Canadian landfills as counted on 2026-10-01, is already loaded, so disposal sites do not need to be typed in. Step-by-step guides are at dumpstercontrols.io/help.
