LDEQ still lists the permit, with a 2026 permit action. Capacity warning: in FY2023 LDEQ reported only about 12 months of MSW (Type II) capacity and about 54 months of C&D (Type III) capacity left, and EPA LMOP gave 2024 as the expected closure year, so the MSW side may no longer take garbage. Call the parish before sending household or commercial MSW; C&D is the likelier use today. **Facility profile (US EPA):** Opened in 1978; public ownership, owned by Vermillion Parish Police Jury; accepts about 35,500 tons a year; about 500,000 tons of waste in place (2009); design capacity of 1,804,865 tons; expected to close in 2024. Not verified yet: tipping fee, roll-off access, account rules. Call the facility before your first load.
