How to track fuel and operational spending in Dumpster Controls

The Reconciliation page has dedicated views that slice your bank feed into fuel and operational overhead, built from the categories you assign.

    Before you start

    • Categorized transactions (transactions categorized as Fuel feed the Fuel view; categories like Insurance, Repairs, Payroll, and Tolls feed the Operational view).
    1. 1

      Switch views

Use the pills under the Accounts card: "All", "Fuel", and "Operational". The transactions table below follows the selected view.

    2. 2

      Read the Fuel view

Three cards total your fuel spend for "Today", "This week", and "This month", and a "Daily fuel spend" bar chart shows the last 14 days. Hover a bar for the exact amount.

    3. 3

      Read the Operational view

Cards show "This month", "Last month", and your "Top category", followed by a "By category" breakdown with a bar and total per category (insurance, repairs, payroll, tolls, permits, and more).

    What happens next

    • Fuel paid by credit card only appears here if the card is linked or its statement was imported; that is exactly why the page recommends linking the card too.

    Troubleshooting

The Fuel view is empty but I buy fuel every day.

The view only shows bank transactions categorized as Fuel. Categorize your gas station charges (the app auto-suggests Fuel for most known brands) or import the statement of the card you pay fuel with.
