How to charge a card by phone in Dumpster Controls

"Card by Phone" lets you take the customer's card details over the phone while creating the order. The card is charged immediately and the order is created already paid.

Before you start

• A connected Stripe account.
• The customer's card details, taken over the phone with their authorization.

1. Start a new order

   Click "Create New Order" and fill in the order details.

2. Choose "Card by Phone"

   In the payment section, select "Card by Phone". A secure card form appears below the payment options.

3. Enter the card details

   Type the card information exactly as the customer reads it to you. The payment is processed by Stripe; the app never stores card details.

4. Confirm the order

   Review the invoice preview and confirm. The card is charged immediately and the order is created with the payment already completed.

What happens next

• The invoice is created as paid and sent to the customer as a receipt.
• No payment reminders are scheduled, since the invoice is already settled.

Troubleshooting

The payment failed.

A "Payment Failed" message shows the reason from the card issuer. Confirm the card details with the customer and try again, or switch to "Payment Link" so the customer can pay on their own device.
