How to search and sort the landfill list in Dumpster Controls

Four sort modes and a smart search make it fast to answer the real question: where should this load go today?

    1. 1

      Search

Type in the box labeled "Search by name, city, zip...". Matches run against the landfill name, city, ZIP code, and county.

    2. 2

      Pick a sort mode

Use the chips under the search box: "Nearest" (default, by distance from your company address), "Top Rated" (best community rating first), "Most Reviewed" (most rated first), and "Cheapest".

    3. 3

      Understand "Cheapest"

Hover the "Cheapest" chip to see its tooltip: "Uses estimated real cost including typical fees." It ranks landfills by the estimated cost of a typical dump, not just the sticker price per ton.

    4. 4

      Filter to your favorites

Click the "Favorites" chip (with the heart icon) to show only the landfills you have favorited. Click it again to see the full list.

    What happens next

    • Changing the search or sort resets the list to the first page of results.
    • When distances are unknown, the list still puts landfills in your own city first.

    Troubleshooting

"Cheapest" put a landfill with no price at the bottom.

That is expected: landfills without pricing data cannot be ranked by cost, so they sort last. Add price info to help the community.
