How to create an order for a commercial account customer
Orders for an account customer are created on the regular "Create New Order" page. Once you pick the customer, the page switches to account mode: no payment is collected and the invoice opens on the account.
- ## Pick the customer
Open "Create New Order", choose "Delivery Order" or "Invoice Only", and pick the account customer. A blue line appears under the customer, for example "On account · 3 unbilled orders ($1,467.00) · next statement closes Sep 30 · Net 30 from close · pays by Check". - ## Repeat the last order (optional)
A button like "Repeat #1259 · 20 Yard · Oak St · PO 4471 · 7 days" fills size, instructions and PO from the last order: "Price comes from the negotiated table." - ## Choose the job site
Under "Job site" pick a site, or "No site (one-off address)". The site fills the delivery address and its default PO. "+ New site" creates one on the spot. If the account has a single active site it is already selected. - ## Check the account notices
The page warns before you create the order: "This account is on hold. New orders are blocked until the balance is cleared.", "This account requires a PO number on every order.", or "Credit limit exceeded: exposure would be {exposure} against a limit of {limit}. You can still create the order." Hold and a missing required PO block the order. - ## Review the price and payment
Tax and fuel surcharge show where they come from ("From account", "From size default" or "Tax exempt"). There is no Due Date for account orders, and the payment section becomes the "On account" card. Delivery and pickup notices to the customer start "Off"; click "Turn on" to send them for this order. - ## Create
In the preview, click "Create order on account". The toast reads "Order created on account" and offers "Create another for {customer}".
What happens next
- The order's invoice is open on the account and goes on the next statement. No payment link, SMS, invoice email or reminder is sent.
- The order confirmation email follows the account's "Order confirmation emails go to" setting and tells the customer: "This order is billed to your account. It will appear on your next statement, with the payment terms agreed with your hauler."
Troubleshooting
"Order blocked by the account".
"Clear the account hold or add the required PO number, then try again." Change the status in the Account tab, or fill the PO.
The account customer tried to book on my public booking page.
The booking page refuses emails that belong to a commercial account: "This email belongs to a commercial account with this hauler. Please order through your account or call the office."

Frequently asked questions
Is Dumpster Controls really free?
Yes. The software is free: dispatch, online booking, the driver app, invoicing, the Tresha AI assistant and every other feature, with no monthly fee, no trial period and no credit card to sign up. The only cost on the free plan is optional card processing when a customer pays by card through the platform: 2.99% plus $3.99 per transaction on the free plan. An optional Unlimited plan at $169 per month lowers that to 2.99% plus $0.30. Prices as published on dumpstercontrols.io/pricing on 2026-09-23.
Do you charge per driver, per truck or per order?
No. There is no per-driver, per-truck, per-user or per-order fee, and no order limit. A company with one truck and a company with twenty pay the same for the software: nothing.
Is there a contract?
No. There is no contract, no minimum term and no setup fee. You create the account yourself, and on the free plan there is nothing to cancel because nothing is billed. The optional Unlimited plan is billed month to month.
Which countries and languages are supported?
Dumpster Controls serves hauling companies in the United States and Canada. The app interface and the Tresha AI assistant are available in English, Spanish and Portuguese. The public pages, such as the blog, the help center and the landfill finder, are in English.
How do I switch from another dumpster software?
Create a free account at dumpstercontrols.io/login, with no sales call and no credit card. Then import your customers from a CSV file using the template provided in the app; past orders can also be imported from a CSV. Container sizes and pricing are set up in Settings. The landfill database, with 1,750 active US and Canadian landfills as counted on 2026-10-01, is already loaded, so disposal sites do not need to be typed in. Step-by-step guides are at dumpstercontrols.io/help.
