How to store a full dumpster for later in the Dumpster Controls Driver App
Landfill closed or the day ran out? Park the full can at the yard, hand the landfill run back to dispatch, and free your truck.
Before you start
A landfill task that has not started yet.
Tap "Store for Later"
On the landfill task, tap the "Store for Later" button. The dialog explains it: "Park this full dumpster at a storage location. The task will be returned to dispatch and the truck will be marked as empty."
Enter the "Storage Address"
Type where the can will sit, for example your yard.
Label the can (optional)
Fill "Dumpster Label (optional)" (for example "30YD-12") so the yard crew knows which unit it is.
Confirm
Tap "Store for Later". The toast confirms "Dumpster stored for later." and the task returns to the dispatch pool.
What happens next
Your truck is marked empty so dispatch can send you the next delivery.
When the stored run is assigned again, the task opens with a "Pick Up From" card showing the storage address and a "Pickup Full Dumpster" button. The helper reads "Confirm you are picking up the full dumpster from storage."; tapping it confirms with "Marked as Pickup Full Dumpster. Select a landfill to continue."
Troubleshooting
I do not see "Store for Later".
The button only appears on landfill tasks that have not started, are not completed, and are not already stored.
