How to open the order importer in Dumpster Controls

The importer lives on its own page, "Import your orders", and the fastest door to it is the setup checklist on your dashboard.

Before you start

  1. Start from the dashboard checklist

While your company has no orders yet, the checklist card offers the link "Already have rentals out? Import your spreadsheet". Click it to open the importer.

  2. Or go straight to the page

Open /app/import-orders in your browser. This works at any time, even after your first orders exist and the checklist shortcut is gone.

  3. Read the page

The header reads "Import your orders" with the subtitle "Paste your spreadsheet and your active rentals appear on the board in minutes." Below it, a card explains the format: "Copy the rows straight from Excel or Google Sheets and paste below. First line must be the headers. Recognized columns:" followed by the column list "name, phone, address, city, state, zip, date, price" and the paste box.

  4. See an example if the page is empty

Before you paste anything, an intro card titled "Bring your current rentals in" explains the outcome and offers the button "Show me an example". Clicking it fills the box with a sample header row and one sample order so you can see the expected shape.

Troubleshooting

I do not see the import link on my dashboard.

The checklist shortcut only appears while you have no orders. Use the direct address /app/import-orders instead.
