How to assign a driver to an order from Operations in Dumpster Controls

Every waiting order can get its driver directly from the order drawer, without opening the Dispatch board.

    Before you start

    • At least one active driver registered.
    1. 1

      Open the order

On any Operations tab, click the order row, or click its "Assign Driver" button to open the drawer with the "Driver Assignment" section already highlighted.

    2. 2

      Pick the driver

The "Select driver" dropdown lists every active driver with their phone number, plus "Unassigned" to remove the current driver.

    3. 3

      Save

Click "Save Assignment" (it reads "Reassign Driver" when changing drivers, or "Remove Driver" when unassigning). A toast confirms "Driver Assigned" with the driver and order.

    What happens next

    • The driver receives a push notification on their phone about the new stop; landfill assignments send "Landfill Trip Assigned".
    • The row now shows the driver's name instead of the "Assign Driver" button, and the same assignment appears on the Dispatch board.

    Troubleshooting

    The save button stays disabled.

Nothing changed: you selected the driver who already holds the order. Pick a different driver or "Unassigned".
