How to create a junk removal job in Dumpster Controls

The "New Junk Job" page ("Create and schedule a new junk removal job") builds the job, the invoice, and the payment request in one pass.

    Before you start

    • Load pricing configured (or be ready to set it from the inline "Configure Pricing" prompt).
    • A customer record: the summary button stays disabled until a customer is selected.
    1. 1

      Open the form

Click "New Job" on the Operations junk tab or "New Junk Job" on the Junk Removal page.

    2. 2

      Pick or create the customer

Under "Customer Information", search with "Search customer name or company…" and pick a customer, or use "Create New Customer". Selecting a customer with a saved address pre-fills the job address.

    3. 3

      Try a quick template

The "1. Junk Job" section offers "Quick:" templates: "Curbside Pickup", "Garage Cleanout", and "Construction Debris". Each one presets the load size, crew size, and duration in one click.

    4. 4

      Choose the "Load Size"

Pick "1/4 Load", "2/4 Load", "3/4 Load", or "Full Load". The "Price ($)" fills in from your load pricing. Typing a different price flags it with "Manual override".

    5. 5

      Set crew and duration

"Crew Size" offers 1 to 3 people and "Est. Duration" offers 30, 60, 90, or 120 min. Both appear in the "Job Summary" and on the invoice line.

    6. 6

      Enter the address and instructions

Fill "ZIP / Postal Code" and the "Delivery Address" with autocomplete. "Driver Instructions" takes notes ("Add instructions (e.g. gate #, placement spot).") and "Photo" lets you attach a job-site picture for the crew.

    7. 7

      Schedule and assign

In "2. Schedule & Assignment", set the required "Job Date", an optional "Start Time" and "End Time" window, and optionally "Assign Driver" and "Assign Truck" right away.

    8. 8

      Create it

Check the "Job Summary" sidebar (load, crew, duration, payment, "Total") and click "Create Junk Job". An invoice preview opens for you to confirm recipients before sending; the toast "Junk Job created" confirms the save.

    What happens next

    • The job gets a sequential "JNK-" number (for example JNK-1000) and starts as "Scheduled".
    • An invoice is created with a line describing the load, job date, and crew, and it is sent to the customer by email (and SMS if selected).
    • If you assigned a driver, the job appears in that driver's lane on the Dispatch board.

    Troubleshooting

The "Create Junk Job" button is disabled.

A customer, a delivery address, and a job date are all required before the button activates.

    I get "Minimum order amount".

"The minimum order amount is $10." Raise the price or check the load pricing for that fraction.
