    Junk Removal

Run a junk removal service beside your dumpster business: price by load fraction, book jobs online, and get paid the same way as any order.

Junk Removal lets a dumpster company sell crew-based cleanouts without inventing a second system. Instead of a dumpster size, each job is priced by how much of the truck it fills: "1/4 Load", "2/4 Load", "3/4 Load", or "Full Load". You set a base price per fraction once on the "Junk Removal Pricing" page, and every new job picks up the right price automatically.

Jobs live in two places. The "Junk Removal" card on the Operations page opens the daily working list with "Load Pricing" and "New Job" buttons, and the dedicated Junk Removal page adds three KPI cards ("Scheduled", "To Landfill", "Completed Today"), search, status and load filters, and a full jobs table. Every job gets a "JNK-" number, its own invoice, and a details drawer with driver assignment, photos, payment actions, a landfill receipt scanner, notes, and a timeline.

Customers can also book junk removal themselves. Your account includes a public "Junk Checkout" page at your own link where customers pick a job type and load size, see your real prices, pay by card, and get an instant confirmation. Paid online jobs land in your list as "Scheduled" with the invoice already marked paid.

Junk jobs plug into the rest of the app: they appear on the Dispatch board with a blue "JUNK REMOVAL" badge, on the Dashboard map and KPI cards, in Order History under the "Junk Removal" filter, and in Orders P&L with their landfill cost counted against profit.

    Frequently asked questions

How is a junk job different from a dumpster order?

A junk job has no dumpster unit and no delivery-plus-pickup cycle. It is one visit, priced by load fraction ("1/4 Load" to "Full Load") with a crew size and an estimated duration instead of a container size and rental period. Job numbers use the "JNK-" prefix instead of "ORD-". Everything else works like an order: it gets an invoice, shows on Dispatch, and is counted in Finances.

    How does load pricing work?

You define a "Base Price" for each fraction on the "Junk Removal Pricing" page. When you create a job and pick a "Load Size", the price fills in automatically from that table. You can type a different price on the job itself, which flags it as "Manual override". The same price table powers your public junk checkout, so online customers always see your current prices.

Can customers book junk removal online?

Yes. The Online Booking page lists a "Junk Checkout" URL you can share anywhere. It works once online booking is on, your Stripe payout account is approved, and at least one load fraction has an active base price greater than zero. Your hosted dumpster booking page also shows a "Junk Removal" button that leads to the same checkout.

Why does the app say "2/4 Load" instead of "1/2 Load"?

The half-truck fraction is stored as 1/2 but displayed as "2/4 Load" across the app and on the public checkout, so the four options read as a consistent scale: 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, Full. It is the same size either way.

Can I sell a junk job on the Dumpster Hub?

Yes. Active junk jobs show a "Sell on Hub" button in the jobs table. Only card jobs qualify: on a cash job the tooltip reads "Only Payment Link (credit card) orders can be listed on the Hub". You also need your Stripe payout setup finished ("Complete Stripe Connect setup to sell on the Hub") and Hub authorization ("Request Hub authorization first"). See the Dumpster Hub module for the full flow.

Why can't I delete a junk job that was paid online?

Deleting would hide a job whose money already moved through Stripe. The app blocks it with a dialog: "This junk job was paid online through Stripe. Use Decline instead to issue a refund." Cancel the job instead, which refunds the customer and keeps the records consistent.
