How to choose the right order type in Dumpster Controls

The "Create New Order" page starts with a three-way choice. Picking the right type changes which fields appear and what happens on submit.

    1. 1

      Open the page

In the app sidebar, click "Create New Order" (subtitle: "Delivery, Invoice or Estimate"). The page header reads "Create New Order" with "Choose what type of order you want to create."

    2. 2

Pick "Delivery Order" for a real rental

"Create and dispatch a dumpster delivery." This books a unit from your inventory, requires delivery, pickup, and due dates plus a delivery address, and generates driver tasks.

    3. 3

Pick "Invoice Only" to bill past work

"Issue an invoice without dispatching a truck." Date fields become "Service Date" and the address becomes "Service Address". An extra "Submit Landfill Info" section lets you attach the landfill receipt, net weight, overweight charges, and "Additional Fees". The order is created directly as completed.

    4. 4

      Pick "Estimate Only" to quote

"Send a quote without creating an order." The form slims down (no PO, due date, payment method, or customer note) and the submit button becomes "Send Estimate".

    What happens next

    • The right column always shows a live summary: "Invoice Summary" for the first two types, "Estimate Summary" for estimates. The "Total" pulses whenever a change affects it.

    Troubleshooting

I picked the wrong type after filling the form.

Click another type card at the top. The form crossfades to the new layout and keeps the fields both types share (customer, size, pricing, dates).
