How to send an estimate in Dumpster Controls

Estimate Only sends a professional quote with an accept link, without touching inventory or creating an order.

Before you start

Pick "Estimate Only"
On the "Create New Order" page, select the "Estimate Only" card ("Send a quote without creating an order.").
Fill the quote
Choose the customer, "Size", "Amount ($)", "Tax (%)", "Fuel Surcharge (FSC)", "Included Weight (tons)", and quantity. "Delivery Date", "Pickup Date", and the address are optional on estimates.
Add "Estimate Notes"
Use the notes field ("Add details or special conditions for this estimate...") for terms or caveats the customer should read.
Send it
Review the "Estimate Summary" and click "Send Estimate". A toast confirms "Estimate Sent" with the estimate number.

The estimate gets its own number (separate from order numbers) and is emailed to the customer with a public link where they can view and accept it.
Track it in the "Estimates" panel on the Customers page, where accepted estimates light up for your acknowledgment.

Estimates require a customer, a size, and an amount greater than 0. Red messages mark what is missing.
