How to manage estimates in Dumpster Controls

Sent quotes live in the "Estimates" panel on the Customers page: track, edit, resend, cancel, and acknowledge acceptances there.

    1. 1

      Open the panel

In the sidebar, click "Customers". Near the top, click the "Estimates" button; it shows a count badge that pulses when there are new acceptances (tooltip like "2 new estimates to review").

    2. 2

      Filter by status

Tabs split the list into "All", "Accepted", "Pending", and "Canceled". Each row shows the estimate number, customer, a status chip ("Accepted", "Sent", "Declined", or "Expired"), "Amount", and "Date". The header totals "Accepted value" and "Pending value".

    3. 3

      Act on a pending estimate

Rows with status "Sent" offer "View" (opens the public estimate page), "Edit", "Resend", and "Cancel".

    4. 4

      Edit before resending

"Edit" opens a dialog with "Customer email", "Size", "Quantity (units)", "Unit price ($)", "FSC ($/unit)", "Tax rate (%)", "Weight (TON)", "Delivery date", "Pickup date", "Delivery address", and "Notes". Saving with resend confirms "Estimate updated and resent".

    5. 5

      Acknowledge acceptances

When a customer accepts, the row shows an "Accepted" chip with a pulsing dot and an "Acknowledge" button. Click it once you have seen the acceptance; the row then shows "Done".

    What happens next

    • Accepting happens on the customer's side through the public estimate link; your panel updates the status automatically.
    • Estimates never turn into orders by themselves: create the delivery order from the accepted terms yourself on the "Create New Order" page.

    Troubleshooting

    I cannot edit an estimate.

Only estimates with status "Sent" can be edited, resent, or canceled. Accepted, declined, and expired estimates are read-only.
