Dumpster container tracking is knowing where every roll off can is right now: at the yard, at a customer address, or on the truck to the landfill. In Dumpster Controls each can is registered by serial number, bound to the order when the driver delivers it, so its address is the job site, moved to Waiting Landfill at pickup, and returned to Available when the landfill receipt is scanned with the weight and the cost. How dumpster tracking software locates a can without GPS

The container is bound to the order at delivery. From that moment its position is the delivery address, until the pickup is confirmed and the can goes back to the pool.

1. Register once

Serial, size, purchase date, condition. Or let the driver type the label painted on the can and renumber later.

2. Pick the unit at delivery

The driver app offers only available units, so a can on rent cannot be assigned twice.

3. Address from the order

The map pin is drawn at the delivery address, stamped by the driver's GPS on the drop photo.

4. Back to the pool at pickup

The pickup returns the can to free, or flags it for repair with the photo the driver just took.

Dumpster GPS tracking: trucks live, containers by status

Be precise about what GPS tracks. Trucks are live: the driver's phone or the cab tablet reports the position about every 30 seconds while the map is open, and a marker older than 5 minutes turns gray.

Containers carry no GPS device. A can is tracked by its status and by its last known address, the delivery address of its order. That is enough to find every can and prove where it was delivered; it will not follow a can someone hauls away on a trailer.

• The map draws a solid line when the truck carries a can and a dashed line when it runs empty.
