Dumpster rental software costs between $0 and $279.95 per month among the vendors that publish a price, and an undisclosed amount at the five vendors that sell only through a demo. That range is the honest answer, and it is wider than most buyers expect because the vendors do not price the same way: one charges a flat monthly fee, one steps up by container count, one adds a fee per truck, one is reported to charge per driver, and one is free and earns on card processing. This page puts all eleven on one table with the vendor's own wording, the URL it came from and the date we read it, then works out what a three-truck company would pay in a year using only those published numbers.
Two rules govern the table. A price appears only if the vendor prints it on its own site; where a vendor does not, the row says so rather than repeating a directory guess, because Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice contradict each other on the same product. And every row carries a date, because prices move: Reservety renamed its plans between the version Capterra still shows and the one on its site, and DRS announced a rebuilt platform in July 2026 without a price yet.
The pricing models, and what each one does to your bill
Flat monthly. One fee, regardless of trucks or users. iCANS ($99 or $159), Bin Boss ($99) and Reservety ($59 or $99) work this way, and the fee does not grow when you add a driver. What does change between tiers is features: iCANS puts text notifications and deeper analytics on Plus, Reservety puts QuickBooks and 15 staff accounts on Professional. DRS is flat within a tier but steps from $195.95 to $279.95 the day you pass 20 cans, and its $79.95 Launch tier is labeled "NO ROUTING" on their own page.
Per truck. CRO (RapidWorks) describes its price as "Flat monthly base fee plus a per truck fee" with "Unlimited users in the office", quoted after a demo. The upside is a large office at no extra seat cost; the downside shows up in their Software Advice reviews, where "Pricing increases with fleet expansion" is a listed con (read 2026-09-24).
Per user or per driver. The RapidWorks pricing page, unlike the CRO product page, describes "user-based pricing". CurbWaste does not publish a price, but Waste Dive reported in October 2025 an initiation fee plus roughly $250 to $300 per driver per month for small haulers, which is the only third-party figure on this page and is labeled as such. Roll-Off Amigo is a softer version of the same idea: the software is free for one owner-operator, and the moment a driver needs a login the price is $99 per month.
Per order or commission. None of the eleven vendors publishes a per-order software price. Reservety advertises "0% Commission Fees" precisely because booking marketplaces charge that way, and the Dumpster Net Hub inside Dumpster Controls charges zero marketplace fees for the same reason.
Free, paid by card processing. Dumpster Controls has no monthly fee, no per-truck, per-user or per-order fee, and every feature is on the free plan. The company earns when a customer pays by card: 2.99% + $3.99 per transaction, or 2.99% + $0.30 on the optional $169 per month Unlimited plan. Orders paid by cash, check or bank transfer cost nothing. The "why" is its own section further down.

Last verified: 2026-09-24. iCANS and Bin Boss were read on 2026-09-23; Docket, ServiceCore, CurbWaste and DRS on 2026-08-23; the rest on 2026-09-24. Re-verification is scheduled every 90 days.
Two things stand out once the vendors sit side by side. Five of the eleven, Docket, ServiceCore, CurbWaste, Basestation and CRO, do not print a monthly number anywhere on their sites, so the first cost of those products is a sales call. And among the six that do publish, the spread between the cheapest paid plan (Reservety at $59, a general rental platform) and the most expensive (DRS Pro at $279.95) is more than four to one for a category of software that does broadly the same job.
What the annual bill looks like for a three-truck company
Three trucks is a common size for a company shopping for its first real system. The table multiplies published monthly prices by twelve and nothing else: no setup fees, no add-ons, no card processing, and no estimate for any vendor that does not publish a price.
| Vendor | Software, 12 months | Based on |
|---|---|---|
| Dumpster Controls | $0 | No monthly fee at any truck count. Card processing only when a customer pays by card (see the worked example below). |
| iCANS | $1,188 to $1,908 | 12 x $99 (Base) or 12 x $159 (Plus). Trucks do not change the price. |
| DRS | $959.40, $2,351.40 or $3,359.40 | 12 x $79.95 (Launch, no routing), 12 x $195.95 (up to 20 cans) or 12 x $279.95 (over 20 cans). The tier follows container count, not trucks. |
| Roll-Off Amigo | $1,188 | 12 x $99 (Pro). The $0 plan is for one owner-operator; a three-truck company with drivers who log in needs Pro, per their pricing page. |
| Reservety | $708 to $1,188 | 12 x $59 (Starter, 2 staff accounts) or 12 x $99 (Professional, 15 staff accounts, QuickBooks). |
| Bin Boss | $1,188 | 12 x $99, one plan, no per-user fees. |
| Docket | Not computable, price not published | Demo required. |
| ServiceCore | Not computable, price not published | Annual contract, demo required. |
| CurbWaste | Not computable, price not published | The Waste Dive per-driver figure is reported, not a published price list, so we do not multiply it. |
| Basestation | Not computable, price not published | Demo required. |
| CRO (RapidWorks) | Not computable, price not published | Base fee plus per truck fee, quoted after a demo. |
The card processing line for Dumpster Controls deserves a worked example, because it is the one cost that depends on your customers rather than on the vendor. A company that takes 40 card payments a month averaging $500 each, $20,000 in card volume, pays $598 in the percentage part and $159.60 in per-transaction fees on the free plan, $757.60 for the month. On the Unlimited plan the same month costs $598 plus $12 in per-transaction fees plus the $169 subscription, $779. The per-transaction saving is $3.69, so Unlimited starts paying for itself above roughly 46 card payments a month. Below that, stay on the free plan. In both cases you decide whether the customer pays the fee, your company absorbs it, or you split it, and orders paid by cash or check carry no fee at all.
Free means free. Forever.
Every feature on this site is on the free plan, with unlimited orders, unlimited users and unlimited SMS, email and push notifications. No trial clock.
How we make money: only when you opt in, and the numbers are public. The software is 100% free with unlimited orders and no per-order software fee. If you choose to collect a customer’s card payment through Dumpster Controls, the processing fee is 2.99% + $3.99 per card transaction on the free plan, or 2.99% + $0.30 (the standard Stripe rate) on the optional $169/month Unlimited plan. Take payment by cash, check, Zelle or any other way and you pay nothing at all. Beyond that, our revenue comes from the optional Unlimited plan and from equipment partners and sponsors advertising in the app and on our public directory; our marketplace, the Dumpster Net Hub, charges zero marketplace fees. Run your own business your way and you never pay to use the software. It’s the only model that lets a 1-truck owner-operator run on the same software as a 50-truck fleet.
The costs that are not on the price tag
The monthly number is the part vendors want you to compare. The rest of the bill lives in the FAQ of their pricing page, in an add-on menu or in a review. These are the items we found, each with its source.
Setup, onboarding and contracts. ServiceCore's pricing FAQ says "ServiceCore is billed monthly with an annual contract" and that onboarding "typically takes 6-12 weeks" depending on business size (2026-08-23). DRS says, in full, "DRS onboarding takes up to 30 days, with many operators transitioning to our platform in less than a week." Reservety asks for the "first month's subscription required as deposit" and does the setup for you, which is why its facts page says "Not self-serve onboarding". Bin Boss adds a "$99 Setup Fee" to its $40 per month template website. CurbWaste's initiation fee is the one Waste Dive reported. Dumpster Controls has no setup fee, no contract and a signup that takes under a minute.
Per-driver and per-seat charges. CRO adds a fee per truck. CurbWaste's reported price is per driver. Roll-Off Amigo's free plan stops at one owner-operator; "Driver app accounts require Pro tier upgrade" at $99 per month. Reservety caps staff accounts at 2 on Starter and 15 on Professional. iCANS, Bin Boss and DRS say they do not charge per user. Dumpster Controls has no user, driver or truck limit.
SMS caps. iCANS puts custom text notifications on the Plus plan only, "up to 1,000 messages/month" per its pricing page. Docket publishes "500 messages included / mo." on Grow and "1,000 messages included / mo." on Pro and Pro Plus. Neither Reservety nor Basestation publishes a quota. A company that texts a confirmation, an on-my-way and a delivered message per order will run into a 1,000-message cap at about 330 orders a month. Dumpster Controls does not cap SMS, email or push notifications.
Payment processing. Docket publishes 3.0% + 30c on Grow and 2.8% + 30c on Pro, with ACH at 1%. Reservety says card processors charge their standard rate "(~2.9%)". Roll-Off Amigo routes payments through your own Stripe account, so you pay Stripe's rate and nothing to them. Dumpster Controls charges 2.99% + $3.99 on the free plan and 2.99% + $0.30 on Unlimited, and its entire revenue is that line, which is the trade the next section explains.
Paid add-ons. DRS sells web design and SEO as separate services, and its QuickBooks Online integration is "available on all DRS plans (except Launch)", so the $79.95 tier has neither routing nor QuickBooks. Docket Boost, a split-testing service for the hauler's website, is "$250 /mo" with a "12-month commitment". Reservety's Xero connector is "$29/month". Bin Boss prices a custom website at "$399 one-time design fee + $40/month hosting & management". Dumpster Controls includes its website builder, QuickBooks Online sync, public API and marketplace at $0.
Why Dumpster Controls is free
The business model is the answer, and it is printed on the pricing page: the software costs nothing, and the company earns a small share of card payments that flow through it. A hauler with no card volume pays nothing and is still a good customer, because a growing operation eventually takes cards, and because a full marketplace needs many haulers on it. That alignment is the whole reason the free plan has no order limit, no user limit and no feature paywall: charging for dispatch or the driver app would only shrink the volume the company lives on.
It also explains the two card rates. The free plan's $3.99 per transaction is the price of paying nothing per month; the $169 Unlimited plan lowers it to $0.30 for companies with enough card payments that the subscription costs less than the difference. The software on the two plans is identical. Canada works the same way, on your own Canadian Stripe account in Canadian dollars, with the Dumpster Controls fee at 0.5% + C$2.00 per transaction on top of Stripe's rate.

The rest of the platform is documented feature by feature in the dumpster rental software guide and the free dumpster rental software page. If you are comparing a specific vendor, the alternative pages carry the same sourced facts: iCANS, DRS, Docket, ServiceCore, CurbWaste, Roll-Off Amigo, Reservety, Basestation and CRO.
