How to connect your Canadian Stripe account

Card payments in Canada run on your own Canadian Stripe account. Connecting takes about five minutes and is done once.

    Before you start

    • Company country set to Canada.
    • Your business details (legal name or your own name for sole proprietors), a Canadian address, and a Canadian bank account for deposits.
    1. 1

      Start Stripe onboarding

Open Settings and go to the payments/Stripe section, then click to connect your account. The embedded Stripe form opens inside the app.

    2. 2

      Complete the Stripe form

Stripe asks for your business type, identity details and your Canadian bank account. This is Stripe's standard verification for Canadian businesses; Dumpster Controls never sees your banking credentials.

    3. 3

      Wait for the green light

When Stripe finishes verifying, your account shows as enabled for charges and payouts. From that moment online booking, payment links and card-by-phone are live in CAD.

    What happens next

    • Do a C$10+ test: create a small invoice and pay it with your own card, then refund it from Finances. You will see the whole money path end to end.

    Troubleshooting

Stripe says my account cannot accept charges yet.

Verification is still pending or a requirement is missing. Reopen the onboarding form; Stripe lists exactly what it still needs. The platform blocks card surfaces until charges are enabled, so customers never hit a broken checkout.
