How to send invoices and payment links in CAD

Payment links for Canadian companies open a Stripe checkout in Canadian dollars, created on your own account. The public invoice shows amounts with the C$ symbol.

    Before you start

    • Stripe connected and enabled for charges.
    1. 1

      Create the invoice as usual

Build the invoice exactly like before: line items, taxes you enter, fuel surcharge. Nothing changes in the invoice editor.

    2. 2

      Generate the payment link

Click to generate or send the payment link. Behind the scenes the platform creates a Stripe Checkout session in CAD on your Canadian account, with the card fee applied according to your fee handling setting.

    3. 3

Customer pays on a link that never expires

The link you send by email or SMS is a stable pay-now URL: every click revalidates the checkout session, so an old email still works weeks later. When the customer pays, the invoice flips to paid and the money is in your Stripe balance.

    What happens next

    • The customer's card can be saved on your account during checkout, which later enables extra fees and card-on-file charges.
