    How to use the live map and its layers in Dumpster Controls

    The "Active Locations" card is a live Google Map of your whole operation. Layers let you show exactly the slice you care about.

      Find the map

      It sits under the KPI row, headed "Active Locations" with a "Live Fleet View" badge in the map's top corner. The "Landfills" button next to the header opens your landfill list.

      Open the "Layers" panel

      Click the "Layers" button on the map. Under "Toggle Layers" you can switch each layer on or off: "Scheduled", "Active", "Pickup Due", "Junk Removal", "Stored Full", "HQ", "Drivers", and "Nearby Landfills". Each row shows a live count.

      Or use the quick chips

      The same layers appear as chips along the bottom of the map. Click a chip to toggle that layer without opening the panel.

      Set the "Landfill Radius"

      At the bottom of the Layers panel, pick "100mi", "200mi", "300mi", or "500mi" to control how far from your HQ the "Nearby Landfills" layer searches.

      Go full screen

      Use the standard Google Maps fullscreen control in the map's corner to expand it.

    What happens next

    • "Stored Full" starts switched off, but turns itself on automatically the moment a stored full dumpster exists, so parked cans are never silently hidden.
    • The map follows the app theme: switching to dark mode redraws it with a dark style.
    • Order and junk positions refresh every few minutes; driver positions refresh every 30 seconds.

    Troubleshooting

    The "Nearby Landfills" layer is empty.

    It needs your company address on file (the search is centered on your HQ) and looks within the selected radius in your state. Set your company address and try a larger radius.

    There is no HQ badge on the map.

    The HQ marker comes from your company address in the account settings. Fill in the address and the badge appears.
