How to add a special stop in Dumpster Controls

Special stops put non-order work on the route: fuel stops, yard runs, a return to HQ, or a standalone landfill trip.

Before you start

  1. Open the form

Click "Add Special Stop" in the Dispatch top bar.

  2. Pick a stop type

Choose "Custom", "Landfill", or "HQ". "Landfill" opens a "Select landfill" dropdown that pre-fills the name and address (with distance in miles). "HQ" pre-fills your company headquarters address.

  3. Fill in "Stop Title" and address

The title is required (placeholder: "e.g. Fuel up, Landfill run..."). Type the address with autocomplete; city, state, and zip fill in automatically.

  4. Add optional details

"Notes" ("Details about this stop (shown on the card)"), a "Time Start" and "Time End" window, and "Priority" ("Normal", "High", or "Urgent").

  5. Assign it (or not)

Under "Assign to Driver", pick a driver or leave it "Unassigned" to drop it in the pool.

  6. Save

Click "Add Stop". A toast confirms "Special stop created".

Troubleshooting

I get "Title is required" or "Address is required".

Both fields are mandatory. Fill them and save again.

I get "Invalid time window".

"Time Start" must be before "Time End".

I get "Not allowed".

Your role cannot create special stops. Ask an admin, supervisor, or dispatcher.
