How to assign or reassign a task from its details in Dumpster Controls

The task details drawer includes a full driver dropdown, useful when you want to review the address and notes before deciding who runs it.

    1. 1

      Open the task

Click a card anywhere on the board. The details drawer opens with the task type, order number, status, address, customer, schedule, and notes.

    2. 2

      Scroll to "Assign to Driver"

The section shows a dropdown listing "Unassigned" plus every active driver with their phone number.

    3. 3

      Pick a driver and apply

Select the driver (or "Unassigned" to send the task to the pool), then click "Apply". The button reads "Saving..." while it writes.

    What happens next

    • A toast confirms "Task assigned to {name}", "Task reassigned to {name}", or "Task unassigned", and the drawer closes.
    • The driver receives a push notification about the new assignment.

    Troubleshooting

The dropdown is disabled and I see "Task is in progress, cannot reassign".

The driver already started this task. Reassignment is blocked until it completes.

There is no "Assign to Driver" section at all.

Completed and locked tasks are read-only, so assignment controls are hidden.
