How to open and read the Dispatch board in Dumpster Controls

The Dispatch board is where you plan each driver's day. Learn what every zone of the screen does before you start assigning.

    Before you start

    • At least one active driver registered. If you have none, the board shows "No drivers registered" with a "Register driver" button.
    1. 1

      Open Dispatch

In the app sidebar, click "Dispatch". The board loads for today by default.

    2. 2

      Read the top bar

Left to right you will find the date navigator (arrows plus the current date), the "Add Special Stop" button, the "Map" toggle, and a search box with the placeholder "Search order, customer, address…".

    3. 3

      Check the summary strip

Below the top bar, a strip shows "total", "assigned", and "unassigned" counts. When future days already have assigned work, "Upcoming:" chips appear; click a chip to jump to that date.

    4. 4

      Scan the "Unassigned Tasks" panel

The left panel is the pool of work without a driver. Tabs filter it by "All", "Deliveries", "Pickups", "Landfill", and "Junk" (the Junk tab only appears when junk jobs exist). Tasks are grouped under section headers: "Late", "Ready for this day", "Scheduled ahead", and "Stored, waiting landfill".

    5. 5

      Scan the driver lanes

Each driver has a lane with an "Assigned for" date header, the driver's name and status chip ("Available", "Off", or "On Route"), a completed/total counter, a progress bar, an estimated day length with a projected finish time, and a "View route" button.

    What happens next

    • The board updates live: changes made by drivers or other dispatchers appear without refreshing, and a "Reordered by" toast appears when a driver reorders their own stops.
    • A "Saving..." chip appears at the bottom of the screen while a drag or reorder is being written to the server.

    Troubleshooting

I see "Failed to load dispatch data".

Click the "Retry" button on the error banner. If it persists, check your internet connection and reload the page.

    The board is empty.

Use the date navigator to confirm you are on the right day. Unassigned tasks for other dates still show in the pool under "Scheduled ahead".
