How to open the driver app as an owner, supervisor or dispatcher

See exactly what your drivers see, from your own account, with no second device and no second login. Useful for training, for testing a change, and for covering a route yourself.

Before you start

  1. Open the account menu

In the office app, open the menu under your name in the top right. The first item switches to the driver app.

  2. Confirm the switch

A short confirmation explains three things: it is the same account and the same permissions, your shift only starts when you tap Play, and the way back lives in the driver menu. You can tick the box to make this device open in driver mode from now on, which is what you want on a tablet that lives in a truck.

  3. Use the driver app

You see the whole company day, because office roles see all orders inside the driver app by design. On a tablet you get the cockpit layout; on a phone you get the phone layout.

  4. Switch back

Open the driver menu and use "Back to the office". If a route or a shift is open the app warns you first, because going back closes them.

Troubleshooting

I do not see the switch in the menu

You need a driver record in the company, because the driver app is built around a driver's day. Create one for yourself under Drivers. The switch is also hidden while viewing another company as a platform admin.

The driver app is empty

It shows your own assigned work plus the company day. If nothing is assigned to you and the company has no work today, it is correctly empty. Use the All tab to see the whole company board.

Drivers do not see the whole company day and I do

That is deliberate. Office roles see everything; a driver needs the "sees all company tasks" option enabled on their driver record.
