How to print QR stickers and scan units in Dumpster Controls

Each unit gets a unique QR sticker. Stick it on the can once, and every delivery or pickup confirmation becomes a point-and-scan.

    1. 1

      Open a unit's sticker

In the expanded units panel or the "Summary of {size}" page, click the QR icon next to a serial. The dialog, titled "QR sticker" with the serial, explains: "Print or download. Each QR is unique to this unit and lets the driver app auto-select it on scan."

    2. 2

      Print or download it

The preview shows the serial in large type, the QR code, and the Dumpster Controls footer. Use "Print" for a direct print or "Download PDF" for a file.

    3. 3

      Batch-print a whole size

Click "Print stickers PDF" in the units panel header (also available on the size summary page) to download one PDF with a sticker per unit, named like 20-yard-qr-stickers.pdf.

    4. 4

Renumber when the list gets messy

"Renumber All" opens a dialog ("Renumber all {size} units") that renames every active unit in order of registration to a clean sequence, previewing the first and last serials. A warning notes that drivers will see the new names on their next refresh, and that units in use are renamed too with their dispatch and order links intact.

    5. 5

      Scan during operations

In the delivery and pickup confirmation forms, the "Scan QR code" button opens the "Scan dumpster QR code" camera dialog ("Point the camera at the QR code on the dumpster."). A successful scan selects the unit and toasts "Unit selected" with the serial.

    What happens next

    • Drivers get the same power in their app: scanning the sticker auto-selects the unit on their delivery and pickup steps.

    Troubleshooting

    The camera never starts.

The dialog reports the exact cause: "Camera permission denied. Please allow camera access in your browser settings." or "No camera was found on this device."

The scan says "Unit not found".

"This QR code does not match any unit in your inventory." The sticker belongs to another company or a deleted unit; reprint from the current list.
