How to set weight limits and extra fees for a size in Dumpster Controls

Steps 3 and 4 of the size wizard turn your disposal economics into automatic invoice math: included tonnage, overage rates, and the fees every rental carries.

    1. 1

      Decide on weight charges

Step 3, "Extra Weight Charge", asks "Do you charge based on weight?" with "Add" or "No". Choosing "Add" reveals "Initial weight included (Ton):" (the tonnage covered by the base price) and "Additional charge per Ton:" (the overage fee).

    2. 2

      Configure the fees

The "Additional fees" step has two toggles: "Fuel Surcharge (FSC)?" with a flat "Fee amount:" (added to invoices when enabled), and "Do you charge sales tax?" with a "Percentage:". Choosing "No" on the step's Add/No control turns both fees off for this size while keeping your values saved.

    3. 3

      Enable customer self-service (optional)

The "Customer portal" block asks "Let the customer request a rental extension?". When on, customers can request extra days from their tracking link; the request always waits for your approval and extra days use the additional day price already set for this size.

    4. 4

      Save

Click "Save" (or "Update" when editing). The tooltips on each field explain exactly where the amount lands on the invoice.

    What happens next

    • The included tonnage and overage rate show on the inventory table as "Max Weight (Ton)" and "Overage Rate ($/Ton)", and they drive the weight line when you complete orders with a landfill receipt.
