How to cancel a junk removal job in Dumpster Controls

Canceling removes the job from your active list and Dispatch, and on card-paid jobs it also refunds the customer.

    Before you start

    • The job is not completed or already canceled.
    1. 1

      Start the cancel

In the jobs table, open the row's action menu and click "Cancel Job". The "Cancel Junk Job" dialog opens with the job number.

    2. 2

      Read the warning

The dialog states "This action is irreversible": "Once canceled, this junk job cannot be restored. It will be removed from Dispatch and marked as canceled."

    3. 3

Review the refund on card-paid jobs

If the job was paid by card, the dialog shows the refund breakdown before you confirm: the customer gets the net amount back and the processing fees are retained, matching how order refunds work.

    4. 4

      Confirm

Acknowledge the checkboxes and confirm. The toast "Junk Job Canceled" reports the result, including the refunded amount ("processing fees retained") on card jobs.

    What happens next

    • The job disappears from the active list and from the Dispatch board.
    • Its status becomes "Canceled", still visible through Order History filters.

    Troubleshooting

    I canceled by mistake.

Cancellation is irreversible by design. Create a new job for the customer; the original stays as a canceled record.
