How to open the landfill database in Dumpster Controls

The "Nearby Landfills" window is the in-app view of the landfill database, filtered to your company's state and sorted by distance from your headquarters.

    Before you start

    • Your company address (street, city, state, ZIP) saved in company settings. Distance sorting and the state filter depend on it.
    1. 1

      Open it from the Dashboard

On the Dashboard, find the "Active Locations" map card and click the "Landfills" button. The "Nearby Landfills" window opens with the count of "locations found" under the title.

    2. 2

      Read a landfill card

Each card shows the landfill name, its star rating with the review count, a pricing block with tipping fees, the full address, a tap-to-call phone number, and opening hours chips when the database has them.

    3. 3

      Check the distance badge

The badge on the right shows the approximate distance, for example "~12 mi", measured from your company address. When exact distance is unknown, landfills in your own city show a "Your city" badge, and others show their city and state.

    4. 4

      Load more results

The list loads 20 landfills at a time. Click "Show more" at the bottom to load the next page; the button shows how many are remaining.

    What happens next

    • From here you can search, sort, favorite, rate, open "Details", or get "Directions" for any landfill.
    • Private landfills your company added appear in the same list with a "Private" badge.

    Troubleshooting

The list is empty and says "No landfills found for this area."

The hint below suggests adjusting your search. If your company address is missing, the same screen shows "Set up your company address" with the note "We use your company address to find nearby landfills." and a "Go to Company Settings" button.

Every card shows a city name instead of miles.

Distance needs both your company address and coordinates for the landfill. Set your address in company settings; the app geocodes landfills automatically over time.
