Messages

One thread per order, where office, driver and customer meet: one-tap driver updates, customer SMS replies and announcements with confirmation.

Messages ties communication to the work. Every order has a thread that gathers the office, the assigned driver, the customer SMS and the order milestones, and you open it from the task card on the Dispatch board, from Order History, or from the Messages inbox.

Drivers do not need to type. On the job screen they tap a button such as "Running late" or "No access", the task card lights up on the board and the office gets a push. They can also listen to messages and dictate a reply.

Customers can reply to your order SMS. With the switch in the Company tab of the Account Center on, the reply lands in the order thread and the office is notified, and you answer by SMS from the same place.

The team side has the Company Channel with a "Got it" confirmation, direct conversations, groups, and a directory that shows who is online, unavailable or on vacation.

Frequently asked questions

Why is there one thread per order instead of one chat per person?

Because the question is almost always about a job. With the thread on the order, the address, the driver and the history are already there, nobody has to resend them, and the conversation stays with the order as a record.

Does the driver button text my customer?

No. A driver update goes to the office only. The office decides whether the customer should be told and sends the SMS with the "Send as SMS to customer" switch.

Can a driver see every order thread?

No. A driver sees the thread of an order where they are assigned, and keeps access for 7 days after completing the task.

Do the automatic milestones send notifications?

No. Milestones such as "Driver assigned" or "Dumpster delivered" are written in the thread silently. They never push and never count as unread.

Which phone number do customer texts come from?

From a number shared by the platform, unless your company has a dedicated SMS number. With the shared number, a customer reply is matched to the last text your company sent to that phone in the past 30 days.

Are chat messages stored on the device?

No. Conversations are loaded from the server each time, so a shared truck tablet does not keep the previous driver messages.

Do the text messages the platform sends to my team also show in the app?

Yes. Every text sent to your office or to a driver is also posted in the "Dumpster Controls" conversation in Messages, with a link to open the order, the estimate or the ticket. Invitations and password resets are the exception, because they carry a private link.
