How to give a driver office access (Admin, Supervisor or Dispatcher) in Dumpster Controls

When a driver also helps in the office, you can give them an office role from their row on the Drivers page. They keep the driver app, the same email and the same password: no second account and no new invite.

Before you start

  • The Admin role. Supervisors and Dispatchers do not see this option.
  • The driver has already accepted the app invite, so they have a login in your company.
  1. ## Open the Drivers page
In the sidebar, click "Drivers" and find the person in the list.
  2. ## Open the row menu
Click the "⋯" button at the end of their row and choose "Give office access".
  3. ## Pick the role
Choose "Admin" ("Full access to office tools."), "Supervisor" ("Orders, invoices, dispatch and drivers. Limited settings, no company finances.") or "Dispatcher" ("Can schedule orders and assign trucks/drivers."). The window reminds you that the person "Keeps driver access".
  4. ## Confirm
Click "Give access". A message confirms "<name> now has office access as <role>." and the role chip appears next to their name in the Drivers list.

What happens next

  • On their next login with the same email and password, they land on the office panel. To go back to their driver work, they open the menu under their profile picture and choose "Switch to driver app"; inside the driver app, the "Back to office view" card takes them back.
  • They also receive a short email letting them know they now have office access and with which role.
  • They now appear on the "Admin Users" page too, with the "Also Driver" tag. To change their role later, use the row menu option "Manage in Admin Users".
  • Every change is recorded with who made it and when.

Troubleshooting

I do not see "Give office access" in the row menu.

Three things hide it: you are not an Admin; the driver has no login yet (send the app invite first, see "How to resend a driver invite"); or the person already has an office role, in which case the menu shows "Manage in Admin Users" instead.

I get "This driver has no login in your company yet. Send them the app invite first."

The driver record exists but the person never set a password. Resend the invite with the key button ("Resend invite") on their row, wait for them to log in once, and try again.

Can I do this from the Admin Users page instead?

Yes. Click "New Admin User" on the "Admin Users" page and type the driver's exact email. Because the person already belongs to your company, the platform only adds the office role and shows "Office access granted to <name>."; their name, phone and password stay the same.

Frequently asked questions

Is Dumpster Controls really free?

Yes. The entire app is free for any company at any fleet size: dispatch, online booking, the driver app, invoicing, the Tresha AI assistant and every other feature, with no monthly fee, no trial period and no credit card to sign up. The only cost on the free plan is optional card processing when a customer pays by card through the platform: 2.99% plus $3.99 per transaction on the free plan. The entire app is free; an optional $169 per month plan lowers that to 2.99% plus $0.30 and adds a Sponsored spotlight in the public company directory. Prices as published on dumpstercontrols.io/pricing on 2026-09-23.

Do you charge per driver, per truck or per order?

No. There is no per-driver, per-truck, per-user or per-order fee, and no order limit. A company with one truck and a company with twenty pay the same for the software: nothing.

Is there a contract?

No. There is no contract, no minimum term and no setup fee. You create the account yourself, and on the free plan there is nothing to cancel because nothing is billed. The optional $169 lower card rate plan is billed month to month.

Which countries and languages are supported?

Dumpster Controls serves hauling companies in the United States and Canada. The app interface and the Tresha AI assistant are available in English, Spanish and Portuguese. The public pages, such as the blog, the help center and the landfill finder, are in English.

How do I switch from another dumpster software?

Create a free account at dumpstercontrols.io/login, with no sales call and no credit card. Then import your customers from a CSV file using the template provided in the app; past orders can also be imported from a CSV. Container sizes and pricing are set up in Settings. The landfill database, with 1,750 active US and Canadian landfills as counted on 2026-10-23, is already loaded, so disposal sites do not need to be typed in.
