How to manage a truck's documents in Dumpster Controls

Registration, insurance, and odometer files live on every truck by default, and you can attach any other paperwork your operation needs.

    1. 1

      Open the "Documents" tab

On the truck's detail page, click "Documents". Each document is a row marked "Uploaded" (green) or "Not uploaded" (red).

    2. 2

      Upload or replace a file

Click "Upload" on an empty row, or "Replace" on a filled one, and pick the file (images or PDF). A toast confirms the upload.

    3. 3

      View a document

Click the eye icon ("View document") on an uploaded row. The file opens in a new browser tab.

    4. 4

      Add a custom document

Click "Add Document", type a name in the field with the placeholder "Document name (e.g. DOT Permit)", then click "Upload" and choose the file. Press Escape or "Cancel" to abort.

    5. 5

      Remove a custom document

Custom documents show a trash icon ("Remove document"). A toast confirms "Document removed". The three default rows ("Registration", "Insurance", "Odometer") cannot be deleted, only replaced.

    What happens next

    • The header badge flips to "Docs Complete" once all three default documents are in.
    • On the Trucks list, the "Reg / Ins / Odo" chips turn green and the truck leaves the "Missing Documents" count.

    Troubleshooting

    I get "Upload failed".

Check the file type and size (the wizard hint says "PDF, JPG, PNG up to 10MB") and your internet connection, then try again.
