The office side is the same for every kind of hauling: an order comes in by phone, by the booking page or by the public API, it lands on the Dispatch board unassigned, a dispatcher drags it into a driver's lane, and the driver gets a push notification and a text. Trash hauler software
A trash hauler in the roll-off sense drops a container, leaves it for a week, and comes back to take it to the landfill. The order carries both tasks from the moment it is created, and the pickup is the part that goes wrong: the customer finishes early and calls, or asks for more days at the curb. The landfill run is where trash hauling software earns its keep. The driver picks the landfill from a list sorted by distance from the yard, with hours and a tipping fee estimate carrying a source badge, photographs the receipt, and the app reads the net weight and the cost off the photo. If the weight beats the included allowance, the order raises an Overweight Alert with a suggested fee computed from the size's overage rate, and you either waive it or bill it. Waste hauler software
"Waste hauler" is the term the state and the county use on the permit, and searches for it often come from companies that also do commercial containers or construction debris. Junk hauling software
Junk hauling is priced by the load, done by a crew instead of a driver, and finished the same day. Dumpster Controls gives it its own job type: a J-prefixed number, a load fraction chip, a crew field, and a workflow that goes scheduled, on site, loading, to landfill, completed. The job sits on the same Dispatch board as the dumpster stops, so a company that does both plans one day, and on the route map a junk stop draws with a J marker. After the job, an extra charge for the items the customer added at the door is billed to the saved card or sent as a payment link, with photos attached. Scrap hauling, switched on when you need it
Scrap is the third kind of hauling and the one most software ignores. In Dumpster Controls it is a module you turn on in Settings. A scrap order says No charge and sends no invoice, because the customer is not paying you; the yard is. The driver runs it as a pickup, with or without a container drop, and can swap a full scrap container for an empty one. When the sale happens you record it and, if you agreed to, rebate the customer part of the sale from the same order.
