How to open and read the Customers page in Dumpster Controls

The Customers page is where your whole customer base lives. Learn what each zone shows before you start managing profiles.

    1. 1

      Open Customers

In the app sidebar, click "Customers". The header reads "Customers" with the subtitle "Manage your customer base and rental activity", plus two buttons: "Import" and "New Customer".

    2. 2

      Read the metric cards

Four cards summarize the base: "Total Customers" (all active profiles), "Active Rentals" (orders still in progress), "Revenue This Month" (paid orders with a payment date in the current month), and "Contractors" (profiles with the contractor type).

    3. 3

      Check the Estimates panel

Between the header and the metrics sits a compact "Estimates" button showing your estimate count. Click it to expand the full estimates panel.

    4. 4

      Scan the table

Columns are "Name" (with email underneath), "Type", "Company", "Phone", "Lifetime Value", "Orders", and "Status". Each row starts with an arrow button; its tooltip reads "View orders & consolidate invoices". Type icons are color coded: a house for residential, a hard hat for contractor, and a building for broker.

    5. 5

      Read the tip banner

First-time visitors see a dismissible tip: "Consolidate multiple invoices into one payment". It explains that the "orders" pill or the arrow on a row expands the customer's orders, while clicking the row itself opens the customer drawer.

    6. 6

      Use pagination

The footer paginates the list (10 rows per page by default) and lets you change the page size.

    What happens next

    • Clicking anywhere on a row opens the customer profile drawer; clicking the arrow or the orders pill expands the row's order list instead.

    Troubleshooting

The table says "No customers found" with "Add your first customer".

Your base is empty or the current filters match nothing. Click "New Customer" to create one, use "Import" for a CSV, or reset the search and filters.
