How to manage scheduled pickups in Dumpster Controls

The "Pickups" tab ("Orders awaiting dumpster collection from customer sites") tracks every can sitting at a customer site until it is collected.

    1. 1

      Open the tab

On the "Operations" page, click the "Pickups" card. The same urgency chips apply: "Total", "Late", "Today", "Tomorrow", "Next Week", plus search, filters, and "Export CSV".

    2. 2

      Assign the pickup driver

Open an order's drawer and use "Driver Assignment" exactly like deliveries: pick a driver and "Save Assignment".

    3. 3

      Move the pickup date

Click the pencil on the "Pickup Date" row, choose the new date, and confirm ("Date updated"). Order, dispatch task, and timeline update together.

    4. 4

      Confirm a forgotten pickup

"Mark as Picked Up" ("Manually confirm pickup if driver forgot") opens with "Confirm Pickup Completed". Optionally upload pickup photos, then click "Confirm Picked Up".

    5. 5

Handle payment from the same drawer

The "Payment Summary" section shows "Payment Status", "Payment Method", and "Invoice Due Date", with "Send Payment Link" and "Mark as Paid" shortcuts (see Invoicing & Payments).

    6. 6

      Answer customer requests

If the customer used the tracking portal, the drawer surfaces an "Early Pickup Request" or "Rental Extension Request" block to approve or reject.

    What happens next

    • A confirmed pickup turns into a landfill run; the full can appears under "Landfill Runs" and on the Dispatch board.
    • "Photos" in the drawer collects everything taken across the order lifecycle.

    Troubleshooting

The customer needs another dumpster instead of a final pickup.

Use the "Swap" button on the pickup card. It creates a linked delivery order for the replacement can.
