Container rental software here means software for renting roll-off dumpster containers: the open-top cans a hauler drops at a job site, picks up full and empties at a landfill that charges by the ton. Dumpster Controls runs that rental as one order, from the online booking with the price shown first, through the delivery, the extension, the swap and the pickup, to the landfill receipt and the invoice, free for any fleet size. It is not for shipping containers, storage containers or portable offices, whose rentals run by the month and never see a scale house.

The booking page runs on the hauler's own site or on dumpstercontrols.io. The customer never sees a size the yard is out of, and never sees a price after paying.

How we make money: only when you opt in, and the numbers are public. The software is free with unlimited orders and no per-order software fee. If you choose to collect a customer’s card payment through Dumpster Controls, the processing fee is 2.99% + $3.99 per card transaction on the free plan, or 2.99% + $0.30 (the standard Stripe rate) on the optional $169/month Unlimited plan. Take payment by cash, check, Zelle or any other way and you pay nothing at all. Beyond that, our revenue comes from the optional Unlimited plan and from equipment partners and sponsors advertising in the app and on our public directory; our marketplace, the Dumpster Net Hub, charges zero marketplace fees. Run your own business your way and you never pay to use the software. It’s the only model that lets a 1-truck owner-operator run on the same software as a 50-truck fleet.

The status on every order row is computed from its dates, never set by hand: Late in red when a date passed and the step is not done, Ready in green when it is due today, Scheduled when it is still ahead.

Roll off container rental software: the middle of the timeline
What makes roll-off rental different from every other rental category is the middle. The container is at the customer for days, and three things can happen to it.
Extension
Requested from the tracking link, priced per day at your rate, waiting for your approval. On approval the pickup date and the invoice update.
Swap
A linked delivery for the fresh can, assigned to the driver who already holds the pickup. One stop, SWAP OUT and SWAP IN.
Early pickup
The customer filled it early and picks a new date from the link. The date moves once you accept it.
The end of the rental: landfill cost and the invoice
The end of the timeline is where the margin is decided. The driver photographs the scale receipt, the app reads the net weight and the total, and the rental shows in Orders P&L with its revenue, its disposal cost and its margin.

Rental software only works when it knows what there is to rent. Each size carries its prices for 24 hours, 3, 7, 14 and 30 days plus the daily rate after that, the included tonnage and the overage.
