First, what this page is about. Container rental software here means software for renting roll-off dumpster containers: the open-top cans a hauler drops at a job site, picks up full and empties at a landfill that charges by the ton. It is not for shipping containers, storage containers or portable offices, whose rentals run by the month, never see a scale house and never get swapped. If you rent those, this is the wrong page. A roll-off rental is a timeline, and the software is judged on whether every moment on it writes to the same order. The sections below follow one rental from the customer's first click to the landfill receipt, with what the customer sees and what the office sees at each step.
The rental starts on your website, with the price first
The booking page above runs on the hauler's own site or on dumpstercontrols.io. The customer picks a size, a delivery date and a rental length, types the address, sets the drop spot on a satellite map and says whether they are a homeowner or a contractor. The summary on the right shows the base price, the tax and the processing fee before anything is charged, and the final price is confirmed before payment. When the customer pays, the order lands on the Deliveries tab with a green ONLINE badge, the invoice and confirmation go out by email and SMS, and both the delivery task and the pickup task are already on the dispatch board. Sizes with no free unit are hidden from the page, so a size the yard is out of cannot be sold. The screens are covered in dumpster booking software.

One rental, moment by moment
The status on every order row is computed from its dates, never set by hand: Late in red when a delivery or pickup date passed and the step is not done, Ready in green when it is due today, Scheduled when it is still ahead. That single rule is what lets the office open the Operations page at 7am and see the day without reading anything.

Roll-off container rental software
What makes roll-off rental different from every other rental category is the middle of the timeline. The container is at the customer for days, the rental can be extended, the customer may fill it early and want it gone, and it may need a swap. The software handles all of that as edits to one order. An extension requested from the tracking link is priced per day at your rate and waits for your approval. A swap creates a linked delivery for the fresh can, assigned to the driver who already holds the pickup. An early pickup request moves the date once you accept it. Nothing moves on its own, and everything that moves is on the order's timeline afterwards.
The end of the timeline is where the margin is decided. The driver photographs the scale receipt at the landfill, the app reads the net weight and the total off it, and if the load went over the included tonnage the per-ton overage on that size becomes a fee on the order. With the customer's card saved from booking, the fee is charged off-session and the customer gets a receipt email with the description and the evidence photo. The rental then shows in Orders P&L with its revenue, its disposal cost and its margin, which is the number the screenshot below reads for one order.
The containers behind the rentals
Rental software only works when it knows what there is to rent. Each size carries its prices for 24 hours, 3, 7, 14 and 30 days plus the daily rate after that, the included tonnage and the overage, and under each size every physical can is a unit with a serial like 20YD-01, a status, a condition and notes. A unit at a customer site shows its order number, and the driver picks the unit he dropped by list or QR scan at delivery.
