A community-powered database of 2,861 landfills with tipping fees, ratings, and hours, built into the app so every dump run starts with the right destination.
The Landfills module is your disposal address book. From the Dashboard, the "Landfills" button opens the "Nearby Landfills" window: every active landfill in your company's state, sorted by distance from your company address, each with its address, phone, hours, community rating, and tipping fee estimates. The header shows how many locations were found.
It is community-powered. Ratings and reviews come from real haulers, prices carry a source badge ("Verified", "Reported", or "Unknown"), and anyone can push a price update with the "Report" link. If a landfill is missing, "Suggest Landfill" adds it as a private landfill your company can use immediately, and the Dumpster Controls team may later promote it to the shared catalog for everyone.
Mark the landfills you actually use with the heart icon. Favorites get their own filter in the list and jump to the top of every landfill picker in the app, including the dispatcher's suggested landfill on pickups and the driver's destination choice.
The same database powers the free public Landfill Finder at dumpstercontrols.io/landfills, where anyone can search dump sites by state and city, compare tipping fees, and read hauler reviews after creating a free account. From there the data flows into operations: the landfill you pick lands on the order, on the driver's route, and in your cost tracking.
Yes. The public U.S. Landfill Finder at dumpstercontrols.io/landfills is a free tool with no signup required to browse, and the database is openly licensed under CC BY 4.0, so anyone may cite and reuse the data with attribution to Dumpster Controls. Inside the app, the full database (favorites, ratings, price estimates, private landfills) is part of the free platform.
That landfill was added by your company with "Suggest Landfill" and is visible only to your company. You can use it on orders right away, but it cannot be rated while it is private. The Dumpster Controls team reviews private landfills and may add them to the public catalog so other dumpster companies can use them too.
They tell you how much to trust a tipping fee. "Verified" means "Confirmed by Dumpster Controls". "Reported" means "Reported by a customer, pending review", so treat it as a rough estimate. "Unknown" means "Pricing not confirmed yet". Every pricing block also shows an "Updated" date.
The list shows landfills in your company's state and sorts them by distance from your company address. If your address is not set, a card appears saying "Set up your company address" with a "Go to Company Settings" button. Add your address and the list fills with relevant locations. Also try clearing the search box.
No. Ratings are one per person per landfill. If you already rated it, the review form shows "You've already reviewed this landfill." and the card displays your stars with the note "your rating" next to the community average.
It is a planning tool only: the base price times your selected weight or dumpster size, plus typical extra fees when the community has reported them. The info tooltip warns that actual landfill charges may vary due to final weight, environmental fees, fuel surcharges, taxes, and minimum load policies.
