    Finances

Your financial command center: net profit at a glance, profit on every order, expenses, and your bank feed in one place.

Finances opens on a dashboard built around one number: your net profit for the period you pick. Under it, four quiet tiles show Received, Invoiced, Unpaid, and Expenses, each compared against the previous period, and three truck-style gauges read your money the way a driver reads a dashboard: Profit margin, Collection tank, and Expense heat. A 6-month Trend chart and cards for Cash flow and Accounts receivable complete the picture.

The Orders P&L page answers the question owners actually ask: what did each order really make after card fees and direct costs? Every order and junk job gets a row with Revenue, Fees, Costs, Profit, and Margin, plus a confidence status (Verified, Partial, Estimated, or Review) that tells you how solid the number is. Click any row to drill into the payments and costs behind it and to take action: add a cost, resend the invoice, or charge an extra fee.

The same profit view lives inside Order History: each order has a Profit Intelligence card with a revenue vs costs donut, a cost breakdown, the margin, and a Profit Health label (Strong, Average, or Weak), with a quick Add Cost button right there.

The Reconciliation page connects the outside world: link your business checking account and credit card through Stripe Financial Connections, or import a statement PDF and let AI extract the transactions. Categorize each transaction, and match bank charges to the costs you recorded so your expense numbers reflect reality.

    Frequently asked questions

Where does the Expenses number on the dashboard come from?

It combines the costs you record on orders (landfill, fuel, labor, and other job costs) with the general company expenses you log on the Company Expenses page (fuel, maintenance, tools, tolls, insurance, office, other). Customer-billed extra charges such as overweight fees count as revenue, not as expenses.

What is the difference between Received and Invoiced?

Invoiced is the total you billed in the period. Received is the money that actually came in as completed payments in the period. Unpaid is what was billed but not collected yet, and it powers the Accounts receivable card.

What do the Verified, Partial, Estimated, and Review statuses mean in Orders P&L?

They tell you how solid each profit number is. Verified means a confirmed payment and recorded costs back the number. Partially Verified means only one side is confirmed, for example a payment came in but no costs were logged yet. Estimated means neither side is confirmed yet. Needs Review flags orders with something missing, such as "No costs recorded", "No payment received", or "No landfill cost" on a completed order.

Why does an order show "projected" next to its profit?

No payment has been received for that order yet, so the app projects revenue from the invoiced amount instead of real money collected. The word "projected" appears under the profit figure until a payment arrives. Projected orders never inflate the profit KPIs at the top of the page; they show up in the Uncollected tile instead.

Is it safe to connect my bank account?

The connection runs through Stripe Financial Connections with bank-grade encryption. You authorize your bank directly in Stripe's window, and the app never sees or stores your login credentials. You can disconnect an account at any time from the same modal.

How much do card payments cost me?

On the free plan, online card payments cost 2.99% + $3.99 per payment. On the Unlimited plan ($169/mo), you pay only 2.99% + $0.30 flat per payment. Cash, check, Zelle, and other manual payments have no processing fees on any plan. The Fees column in Orders P&L shows the exact fee taken on each collected payment.
